DETAILS:

Job Title: Student Ministry Lead

Job Status: Full Time

Hours of Work: Minimum 40 per week

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Strategic Leadership and Vision:

  • Develop and implement a vision and strategy for the Student Ministry that aligns with the church’s mission.
  • Set measurable goals for spiritual growth and engagement among students.
  • Work closely with other ministry leads to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive Family Ministry experience.

 

2. Program Development and Implementation:

  • Plan and oversee weekly gatherings, small groups, and mid-week programs for Middle and High School students.
  • Implement curriculum that promotes both relational and spiritual development.
  • Coordinate large events, retreats, and mission opportunities designed to challenge students to take next steps in deepening their faith and commitment to serving others.

 

3. Family Engagement and Partnership:

  • Engage with parents and families, providing resources and support to encourage faith formation at home.
  • Regularly communicate ministry goals, events, and updates to families, offering guidance on how to reinforce biblical application within the family structure.
  • Organize parent meetings, workshops, and resources to equip parents as spiritual leaders for their teens.

 

4. Volunteer Recruitment and Development:

  • Recruit, equip, and empower a team of adult volunteers to mentor students by leading small groups, and assist with Student Ministry programming.
  • Foster a welcoming and relational environment for both students and volunteers.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to ensure volunteers understand and support the Sunrise Philosophy and the church’s vision for student ministry.

 

5. Care and Discipleship:

  • Provide support and guidance to students, building authentic relationships and creating an open environment where students feel valued, heard, equipped, and loved.
  • Engage students in one-on-one and group settings, addressing their spiritual needs and offering biblical guidance and mentorship.
  • Be present at students’ events, where possible, to show support and encouragement outside of church settings and develop volunteer group leaders who do the same.

 

6. Administrative Duties:

  • Assist the Central NextGen Director in Managing the Student Ministry budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and responsibly.
  • Maintain attendance records, event documentation, and other data to assess ministry effectiveness and engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Family Ministry team at each campus on church-wide events, as well as the development of shared resources and strategies.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Employment contingent upon the results of your background check.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Ministry, Youth Ministry, Education, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in student ministry within a church setting, preferably in a large , fast paced, mulit-ethnic, and multi-site church environment.
  • Strong understanding, commitment and experience working in a collaborative, family-focused ministry.
  • Proven leadership development, organization, and communication skills with the ability to connect with both students and their families.
  • A heart for middle and high school students and a passion for helping them grow in their relationship with Christ.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.

General Summary

Job Duties & Key Responsibilities
Student Ministries

  • Provide oversight for High School & Middle School ministries.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience (must have one or more of the following)

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) preferred
  • Seminary degree (MDiv or equivalent) and/or biblical counseling training a plus
  • 5 years related experience and/or training preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

    pathways, and church membership.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for teaching, training, and discipling adults,
    aligned with the church’s mission, values, and discipleship strategy.
  • Oversee and enhance ministry to new believers, guiding them in faith formation, biblical
    understanding, and connection to community.
  • Develop and maintain a plan to increase participation and e􀆯ectiveness of groups and pathways.
  • Identify, develop, and/or select curriculum and resources to support adult discipleship and growth.

Community Life Groups (CLGs)
 

  • Regularly cast vision for Community Life Groups to the congregation.

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement Equip Classes that help adults become grounded in God’s Wordfor life application and spiritual growth.
  • Collaborate with the Marriage & Family Pastor to coordinate Equip Classes that strengthen marriages, parenting, and family life.
  • Ensure Equip Classes align with the church’s overall discipleship pathway and spiritual formation strategy.
     

Ministry Oversight & Leadership
 

  • Provide leadership, coaching, evaluation, and goal setting for key sta􀆯 and volunteer leaders,
    including:
    o Volunteer Leaders for CLGs, Bible studies, and classes.
    o Spiritual Formation Sta􀆯: Guest Experience Coordinator, Women’s Ministry Coordinator, Recovery Coordinator, Spiritual Formation Assistant
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and development.
  • Work with the Executive Pastor to build and maintain healthy volunteer pipelines, leadershipdevelopment systems, and team culture.
  • Function as a member of the church’s pastoral sta􀆯, providing support in areas such as baptisms,weddings and funerals, pastoral care (hospital and nursing home visitation), preaching and teaching as needed.

Family Pastor

Associate Pastor
 

The Associate Pastor is a shepherding and oversight role that will work closely with the leadership community at UCCC, but will directly report to the senior pastor. This person will partner with the senior pastor, elders, deacons, council, and the other staff to oversee the spiritual formation pathway for individuals from birth to adulthood.
 

The ideal candidate will help share the pastoral load with the senior pastor. This person should be able to think outside the box and cast vision clearly, but this person should also be able to see the vision through completion. The ideal candidate should be experienced at building teams. This person needs to be hospitable and people-oriented, with the ability to minister to a diversity of people (as described below). In order to fit into the culture of UCCC, the person should be familiar with emotional health, healthy and unhealthy church systems, ministry to groups often pushed to the margins (i.e., single parents, neurodivergent, women, Black and Brown people), and practices of spiritual formation.
 

UCkids (Birth - 5th)

  • Foster an environment where families, children, and volunteers are being formed to engage with God, journey together, and spread hope. 
  • Build relationships with families, providing shepherding and soul care.
  • Equip, train, and shepherd volunteers to thrive in the roles needed to move the vision of UCkids ministry forward.
  • Ensure curriculum materials are provided and align with church vision.
  • Provide opportunities for connection for families and volunteers.
     

UC Teens (6th-12th Grades)

  • Collaborate with the Senior Pastor to equip, train, and shepherd volunteers to oversee the student ministry of UCCC. 
  • Ensure curriculum materials align with church vision.
  • Support the UC Teens team to foster an environment in which families and students are being formed to engage with God, journey together, and spread hope.
     

All Church Formation

  • Collaborate with staff to cultivate UCCC’s spiritual formation pathway from first-time attendance to membership and full engagement.
  • In collaboration with the Senior Pastor, oversee some aspects of the UCCC adult ministry and small group ministry. Including, some aspects of leadership development, coaching, and soul care for leaders.
  • In collaboration with the Senior Pastor, provide pastoral/soul care to members of the congregation, including spiritual direction and visitation.
     

Teaching Team

  • Be a part of an one-hour, weekly preaching collective alongside others on the teaching team.

Overview

Core Responsibilities

1. Weekend Worship Leadership

  • Lead engaging, Spirit-filled, contemporary worship for Sunday services.
  • Select songs that align with Vibrant’s voice, theology, and culture.
  • Run rehearsals, prepare arrangements, and cultivate excellence with humility.
  • Collaborate with Teaching Pastor, Production Director, and Service Producer to build seamless, impactful weekend experiences.

 

2. Team Development & Pastoral Leadership

  • Recruit, onboard, train, and pastor worship team members (band & vocals).
  • Create a culture where volunteers feel valued, equipped, and developed.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, spiritual encouragement, and skill development.
  • Champion diversity — reflecting the heart of South Florida in our teams.

 

3. Creative Collaboration

  • Partner with leadership on planning worship sets, special elements, and seasonal services (Easter, Christmas, At The Movies, etc.).

4. Administration & Systems

  • Manage scheduling for worship volunteers through Planning Center.
  • Maintain chord charts, tracks, rehearsal files, and weekly planning tools.
  • Coordinate with AVL team to ensure gear is cared for and systems are working efficiently.
  • Plan and execute team nights, auditions, and development track for new musicians.
