The Children’s Ministry Director is responsible for executing our mission with the next generation. You are not just managing a ministry; you are leading a movement to reach families who are disconnected from God and helping them discover the full life Jesus promised. You lead the team that aims to ensure every child that walks through our doors knows we are For them because Jesus is For them.

 

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
 
Leadership & Team Oversight

Cast Vision for the Christ’s Kids team through intentional and consistent discipleship, ensuring each volunteer, leader, and coach understands the "why" behind the "what."
Provide direct supervision, leadership and accountability for Christ’s Kids Preschool Director, Children’s Ministry Assistant and key ministry leads.

 
Vision Alignment

For Jesus: Ensure that every environment we create points kids toward a relationship with Christ. This means prioritizing biblical accuracy, keeping the Gospel at the center of our teaching, and helping children understand how to live out their faith in their daily lives.
For Each Other: Oversee a "Leadership Pipeline" where volunteers are personally known and spiritually fed. You are responsible for the spiritual health of the Christ's Kids volunteer community.
For Camden: Oversee high-visibility community bridges like Connect Camps and Preschool integration, ensuring we show compassion and dignity to every person in our county.

 
Mission Advancement: Leading the Disconnected

Support the journey a family takes from a "For Camden" community contact (Connect Camps/Preschool/community services) to becoming fully engaged "For Jesus" disciples.
Create Sunday environments so compelling that unfulfilled families feel a sense of belonging and hope.
Ensure teaching that emphasizes salvation comes by grace through Jesus’ sacrifice, leading kids into a lifestyle of biblical authority.
Oversee the Sunday morning experience to ensure high-energy, age-appropriate, and gospel-rich teaching.
Manage curriculum (Elementary & Preschool) to ensure it is engaging and relevant.
Direct production of weekly service elements and engaging content that extends ministry beyond Sunday.

 
Family Discipleship & Care

Parent Partnership: Design and execute a communication strategy that equips parents to be the primary spiritual leaders of their homes.
Milestone Management: Lead the process for Child Dedications and Children’s Baptisms, including parent interviews and resource distribution.
Pastoral Care: Provide or coordinate  care for families and volunteers during times of crisis or transition.
Systems & Administration
Manage the Children’s Ministry budget and maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment.
Rigorously enforce the Child Protection Policy, ensuring 100% compliance with background checks, safety training, and ratios.
Oversee the use of Planning Center (scheduling), ProPresenter (presentation), and social media platforms.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
  • Ability to align Christ’s Kids with the overall vision of Christ's Church Camden and implement systems for long-term growth.
  • A "leader of leaders" who identifies, recruits, auditions, and coaches volunteers into high-capacity roles.
  • Capacity to manage a busy Sunday environment with emotional intelligence and calm under pressure.
  • Deeply aligned with being For Jesus, For Each Other, and For Camden—modeling this in every staff and volunteer interaction.
  • Proven ability to build a massive "For Each Other" culture among volunteers, ensuring the ministry scales through healthy teams, not just individual effort.

 

Spiritual Requirements:

As a primary leader within Christ’s Church Camden, the Children’s Ministry Director must embody the spiritual standards set forth in our Staff Lifestyle Agreement as well as actively Partner with our church. This role is one of pastoral stewardship that requires:

  • Agreement with the Christ’s Church Camden Statement of Faith, including our biblical understanding of the Trinity, baptism by immersion, the authority of Scripture, Salvation through faith alone, and God’s design for Marriage and Humanity.
  • Committed to meeting God daily through Scripture and prayer, and faithful practice of a weekly Sabbath.
  • A lifestyle that reflects biblical integrity in personal, family, and business conduct.
  • Committed to our "For Each Other" vision by committing to our Christ’s Church Camden Cultural Behaviors such as  assuming positive intent, refraining from gossip, and resolving conflict biblically via Matthew 18.
  • Committed to lead by example in financial stewardship, including tithing (10%) to Christ’s Church Camden.
  • Faithful attendance at weekend services and active participation in a Message Based Group, modeling the "full life in Jesus" to the congregation.

Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries

Position Summary:


 

The First Methodist Church of Texarkana, TX, is seeking an energetic and visionary leader to develop and lead our youth (grades 6-12) and young adult ministries. This individual will create a welcoming and engaging environment where students can grow in their faith, build lasting relationships within the community, learn how to apply their faith to their everyday lives through discipleship, and engage in mission and service.

 

Key Responsibilities:


 

  • Provide spiritual leadership, discipleship, and pastoral care to students and young adults
  • Develop and lead weekly programming opportunities for fellowship and Bible study
  • Plan and coordinate events, retreats, service projects, and mission opportunities
  • Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers to serve as small group leaders and mentors
  • Encourage students and young adults to actively participate in the life of the congregation
  • Ensure all youth and young adult ministry activities align with the church’s mission and beliefs
  • Build relationships with students, parents, young adults, and volunteers through regular communication and presence at key life events (games, recitals, concerts, etc.)
  • Develop intentional outreach strategies to connect with unchurched or disengaged youth and young adults in the community
  • Manage ministry budget, registration processes, event logistics, and safety protocols
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:


 

  • A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a passion for youth and young adult discipleship
  • Experience in youth ministry, mentoring, or teaching middle school and high school students
  • Ability to connect with and relate to youth and their families
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Worship Pastor

Overview

The Worship Director will lead all aspects of the worship culture at Vibrant Church. This includes crafting presence-driven worship experiences, developing teams, pastoring volunteers, and helping create an atmosphere where people can encounter God and feel at home.

This role is perfect for someone who is musically gifted, spiritually mature, relationally strong, and passionate about building a team comprised of diverse people and skill levels.

 

Core Responsibilities

1. Weekend Worship Leadership

  • Lead engaging, Spirit-filled, contemporary worship for Sunday services.
  • Select songs that align with Vibrant’s voice, theology, and culture.
  • Run rehearsals, prepare arrangements, and cultivate excellence with humility.
  • Collaborate with Teaching Pastor, Production Director, and Service Producer to build seamless, impactful weekend experiences.

 

2. Team Development & Pastoral Leadership

  • Recruit, onboard, train, and pastor worship team members (band & vocals).
  • Create a culture where volunteers feel valued, equipped, and developed.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, spiritual encouragement, and skill development.
  • Champion diversity — reflecting the heart of South Florida in our teams.

 

3. Creative Collaboration

  • Partner with leadership on planning worship sets, special elements, and seasonal services (Easter, Christmas, At The Movies, etc.).
  • Work with the Creative/Production Teams to ensure high-quality audio, lighting, and stage environments.
  • Help shape the sound, tone, and creative direction of Vibrant’s worship identity.

 

4. Administration & Systems

  • Manage scheduling for worship volunteers through Planning Center.
  • Maintain chord charts, tracks, rehearsal files, and weekly planning tools.
  • Coordinate with AVL team to ensure gear is cared for and systems are working efficiently.
  • Plan and execute team nights, auditions, and development track for new musicians.
