Mission Alignment
The High School Coordinator plays a key leadership role in discipling high school students, guiding them toward maturity, purpose, and leadership. This role combines relational ministry, program leadership, and oversight of the Oaks Internship Program, preparing students for life beyond high school.
Key Responsibilities
Student Engagement & Presence
- Build strong, mentoring relationships with high school students through consistent presence in schools, neighborhoods, and community spaces
- Attend students’ extracurricular activities and school events
- Provide regular check-ins and support related to academics, faith, and life planning
Program Leadership – Urban Leadership Project (ULP)
- Plan, lead, and implement weekly High School ULP gatherings on Tuesday nights
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers serving with high school students
- Plan teaching content, speakers, and leadership development opportunities
Internship Program Oversight
- Oversee the Oaks Internship Program
- Disciple and mentor high school interns
- Plan and implement intern trainings (leadership, life skills, financial literacy, discipleship)
- Ensure interns are fulfilling responsibilities and growing in maturity and accountability
Events & Experiences
- Plan and implement special events, retreats, and leadership experiences for high school students
- Plan and lead a High School Summer Camp experience focused on discipleship, leadership, and preparation for adulthood
Discipleship & Development
- Provide consistent biblical discipleship and leadership development
- Teach or prepare lessons for ULP, internships, camps, and other programming
Team Collaboration
- Coordinate closely with the Middle School Coordinator for shared events, transitions, and vision alignment
- Participate in weekly staff meetings and monthly evaluations with Co-Directors
- Assist with “all hands on deck” ministry events
Skills & Qualifications
- Love for Jesus and commitment to living out the Gospel
- Experience working with high school students, preferably in an urban or mentoring context
- Strong relational and leadership skills
- Experience in mentoring, discipleship, or leadership development
- Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple programs
- Flexible schedule and willingness to engage beyond traditional work hours
