Hixson United Methodist Church Hixson, Tennessee 37343 Full Time Hixson United Methodist Church seeks a full-time Minister with Children, Tweens, & Families to lead our church's long-standing and vibrant children's ministry. The successful candidate will partner with Hixson UMC Staff and the church Leadership Team to conceptualize and creatively implement the Hixson UMC Mission and Vision, especially concerning our community's children, tweens, and their families. This new team member will develop and implement birth-preschool, early elementary, and tween ministry programs that emphasize opportunities in the areas of prayer, presence, gifts, service, and witness designed to enhance the spiritual discipleship of all participants while providing them with age-appropriate activities to ensure their enthusiasm. They will also continue to support our team approach to Children and Tween ministry areas by working with and continuing to cultivate Children's Ministry volunteers. We are looking for an experienced visionary who loves God, is passionate about children and tweens, and can inspire adults. A qualified candidate for this position would have: An active and maturing relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. A degree in a related field (Church Vocations, Children's Ministry, or Education) and leadership experience in children's ministry. At least 5 years experience in a related position. Ability to recruit adults and volunteers for leadership roles and provide a structure to successfully train/mentor adults and volunteers to lead children. A commitment to nurturing children toward a growing understanding of what it means to be a child of God and a follower of Jesus Christ. An ability to develop and implement appropriate age-level ministries for children that emphasize opportunities in prayer, presence, gifts, and service. Ability to use a variety of technology tools and excellent communication skills.
