Assistant Pastor or Director of Next Generation & Family Ministry

Full-Time | 32 hours per week
(Monday–Thursday, 9 AM – 3 PM; Sunday, 8:30 AM – 1 PM and 5 PM – 8:30 PM)
Compensation: $41,600 per year (salary)
Benefits: Paid Time Off (PTO) included; no additional benefits offered
Job Overview:
This position provides visionary, spiritual, and organizational leadership to children, youth, and family ministries, helping the next generation grow in faith, discipleship, and connection with the church. The role includes collaborative teamwork with the Lead Pastor and the broader church staff to ensure alignment in mission and ministry.
Job Description:
● Provide spiritual leadership and direction to Children’s and Youth Ministries
● Provide full leadership of the Youth Ministry, including spiritual formation, mission trips, retreats, seasonal events, fellowship gatherings, and fundraising efforts; recruit and equip volunteers, and foster strong partnerships with parents to support youth discipleship and engagement.
● Oversee the Children’s Ministry in partnership with the Children’s Ministry Coordinator
● Prepare and deliver a weekly children’s message/sermon during the Children’s Ministry
● Offer a children’s message/sermon during monthly Family Worship Sundays
● Plan and implement family-centered ministries and events (e.g., VBS, seasonal programs)
● Encourage and nurture faith development and Christian education for children, youth, and families
● Recruit, equip, and support volunteers for both Children’s and Youth Ministries
● Maintain consistent communication and regular planning meetings with the Children’s Ministry Coordinator
● Attend monthly Administrative Council meetings and collaboratively present reports and updates on Next Generation Ministries.
● Attend weekly staff meetings and actively contribute to the overall vision of the church
● Collaborate closely with the Lead Pastor to ensure ministry alignment with the church’s mission
Education & Qualifications:
● Valid driver’s license in good standing
● Bachelor’s degree required. A degree in Christian Education or from an accredited Christian college/university is preferred
● A completed or in-progress Master’s degree in Christian Education, Theology, or a related field is highly valued, though not required.
● Strong foundation in Wesleyan/Methodist theology, or a willingness to learn and grow in it
● Demonstrated passion for discipleship and ministry with children, youth, and families
● Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
● Ability to work collaboratively with church staff, volunteers, and parents
