Youth Pastor (San Diego, CA)

The Big Picture
Glory Christian Church of San Diego (GCCSD) is calling for a full-time Youth Pastor. The church is a bilingual (Mandarin and English) congregation in the Miramar area of San Diego, California, emphasizing Bible teaching, missions, outreach, and ministry to children, youth, and college students.
Under the guidance of the church pastor, the Youth Pastor will guide the church's youth in their spiritual journey to know the Lord Jesus Christ, to confess their faith in Jesus, and to work through the issues that challenge their belief. He will also work with youth parents to foster an environment that nurtures their children in the Christian faith.

Job Profile
Full-time position, working under the guidance of the church pastor.

Youth Ministry

• Lead youth fellowship discussions and activities.
  
• Teach and organize Sunday School with a parent support team.
  
• Preach from the pulpit on Sundays and at other youth events.
  
• Visit youth at their homes or at places agreed upon with their parents.
  
• Counsel youth on the issues that challenge their belief.
  
• Work with parents to nurture their children in the Christian faith.
  

Qualifications

• Good Bible knowledge, and agreement with the church's Statement of Faith, constitution, and bylaws.
  
• Must be ordained.
  
• A true calling for youth ministry, verified through actual ministry experience, classes taken, and personal testimony.
  
• A passion and a loving heart for youth.
  
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team setting or individually.
  
• Good organizational skills to manage work systematically.
  
• A bachelor's degree.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 4 years of ministry experience.
  
• A master's degree in ministry.
  
• Married.
  

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $55,000 to $70,000 (based on experience).
