Worship Ministry Coordinator
Summary DescriptionThe Worship Ministry Coordinator is an organized leader who assists the priest in solidum of the parish in ensuring that all liturgical details are completed in a timely way, allowing the priest and other liturgical ministers to enter prayerfully into sacred worship. The coordinator reports to the priest in solidum of the parish.
Essential FunctionsProgram
- Schedules the following liturgical ministers for weekend Masses, Weddings, Funerals, and other liturgical events as needed: sacristans, altar servers, lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion.
- Plans and prepares for all liturgical events, including Intercessions and Adoration.
- Works with Hospitality Coordinator for any assistance needed for scheduling or training ushers or greeters.
- Plans and prepares regular training and continuing formation for liturgical ministers.
- Works with Prayer Groups for scheduling ministers for use of the church and needed ministers.
- Ensures that churches are not doubled-booked and that each ministry knows proper protocol for opening, closing, and cleaning up after liturgical events.
- Responsible for ordering all church supplies used in the above activities and ordering Parish Liturgical Calendars for parishioners.
- Responsible for maintaining and ordering all investments and linens for Mass, Liturgical and Sacramental events.
Administration
- Assists in training all liturgical ministers to serve excellently in their capacity.
- Communicates needs and assignments for liturgical ministers in a timely fashion.
- Ensure all Safe Environment policies and protocols are consistently upheld and followed by Family of Parish (FOP) volunteers.
- Maintain accurate records.
QualificationsEducation, training and/or experience
- Complete or in process of completing On Fire for the Faith AOD catechetical formation.
- Minimum of one year experience in intercessory prayer team or other prayer group leadership role.
- A strong knowledge of liturgical practice, as well as experience in the use of the major liturgical books (Ritual books, Lectionary, AOD Office of Sacred Worship Guidelines, etc.)

- Strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a deep love for the Church as well as a developed prayer life.
- A positive attitude and an ability to serve others with patience, understanding and dignity.
- Strong organizational skills to manage many different people.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills, a collaborative management style and creative problem-solving skills.
- Proficient computer skills, especially for communication and scheduling.
- A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards.
