Job description

We’re seeking a passionate, Jesus-loving Contemporary Worship Leader to help create inspiring, Spirit-led worship experiences.

In this part-time role, you’ll plan, coordinate, and lead the music and flow for our contemporary services, collaborating closely with our pastors and worship team to design theologically sound worship experiences that are spiritually enriching and deeply engaging. We're specifically seeking a candidate who can grow, lead, and mobilize a team, loves God and people, and is excited about growth. Responsibilities of the Position

Worship Planning and Leadership:

  • Plan and lead contemporary worship with music that aligns with the sermon, working closely with the pastor and team to create a meaningful, unified experience
    • Lead rehearsals for the worship team, ensuring that all members are well-prepared for services.
    • Introduce new songs and musical arrangements to enhance the worship experience.

Team Recruitment and Development:

  • Recruit and train musicians while fostering a collaborative team culture and offering ongoing mentorship.

Technical Coordination:

  • Work with the Tech Team to ensure that all technical aspects of the worship service, including sound, lighting, and multimedia, are effectively coordinated.
    • Oversee the setup and maintenance of musical equipment and instruments.

Spiritual Leadership:

  • Model a Christ-centered lifestyle by integrating Christian values into every aspect of the worship ministry and encouraging team members to grow in their faith.
    • Lead the worship team in prayer and spiritual reflection, fostering a sense of community and purpose.

Administration and Evaluation:

  • Manage the contemporary worship budget to ensure responsible stewardship of resources.

    • Maintain accurate records of music selections, team rosters, and rehearsal schedules.
    • Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of worship services and make adjustments as needed.

Communication and Promotion:

  • Utilize various communication channels, including social media and church announcements, to promote contemporary worship services and events in conjunction with our Communications and Event Coordinator.
  • Maintain regular contact with team members to keep them informed and engaged.

Schedule:

  • This is a part-time position averaging 25 hours per week. Regular hours include Sunday mornings, weekly worship team practice, attendance at regularly scheduled staff meetings, and bi-monthly attendance at Church Leadership meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Experience leading worship
  • Degree or coursework in Worship Arts, Music Ministry, Theology, or a related field.
  • Experience using Planning Center, ProPresenter, or similar tools.
  • Relational Skills: Compassionate, communicative, and able to build community within the worship team and congregation.
  • Committed Christian Faith: Demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to continue the path of spiritual growth.
  • Musical Talent: Proficiency in singing and/or playing a lead instrument (typically guitar or keyboard) in a contemporary style.
  • Leadership & Teamwork: Experience leading a team and collaborating with church staff.
  • Worship Planning Experience: Ability to craft meaningful, Christ-centered worship experiences that align with scripture
