Theology Teacher/Campus Ministry Team

Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School seeks a Theology Teacher with a passion for teaching and supporting a Campus MInistry program which fosters the formation of students spiritually, intellectually, socially, and emotionally. Under the supervision of the principal, this position will help create an environment which encourages and guides students to contribute to the Catholic identity of the school and the formation of a faith community which responds to their spiritual needs

Job Responsibilities:

Fosters a welcoming environment that encourages students, teachers, staff, and parents to contribute to the school's Catholic identity.
Develops and teaches programs that support spiritual growth, prayer, and sacramental experiences.
Ensures that the mission of Our Lady of Mount Carmel School and the Catholic identity of the school are clearly articulated and carried out to all constituents.
Collaborates with student leaders in planning and implementing school liturgies, prayer services, Adoration, and sacramental experiences.
Coordinates school liturgies, prayer services, and sacramental experiences with the goal of optimizing student engagement and participation.
Communicates service learning opportunities to students and families, including online resources and email communications, informational meetings, and direct invitations to serve.
Collaborates with the Campus Ministry Team in planning and implementing faculty/staff retreats.

Job Requirements:

Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing.
Prior teaching experience and experience in campus/youth ministry is preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Theology, Liturgy, or Religious Studies or comparable.
Ability to provide at least three (3) Professional References
Must submit to a background check and VIRTUS training
Must possess strong interpersonal, written, and communication skills and be able to relate to diverse personalities.
Must have the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
Employment is contingent upon acceptable results of a state and federal fingerprint background check, completion of VIRTUS Training, and completion of all necessary paperwork.
