Status: Part time - approximately 10 hours per week, primarily Wednesday evenings

Who We Are: Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (POP), is an ELCA congregation of 5,600 members located in the southern Twin Cities suburb of Burnsville, MN. At our core we seek to see the Gospel transform lives. We do this through providing robust mission opportunities through our onsite food shelf and dental clinic, providing thought provoking sermon series, traditional and contemporary worship geared for excellence, and learning and personal growth opportunities for all ages.

Job Summary: The Student Ministry Music Leader is responsible for organizing and leading music for weekly student worship with the Student Ministry Director. This includes arranging setlists, scheduling and coordinating volunteer musicians and vocalists, leading rehearsals, and ensuring that worship runs smoothly from a musical perspective.

Essential Functions:

Serve as the primary music leader during Student Ministry services, guiding the band and congregation to ensure a smooth and impactful worship experience.

Takes direction from the Student Ministry Director and actively participates in the music.

Collaborate with Family Ministry team to create engaging worship experiences.

Curate, arrange, and manage weekly setlists and tracks that create an engaging and meaningful experience in collaboration with the Student Ministry Director.

Coordinate, schedule, and support volunteer musicians and vocalists, ensuring each service is fully staffed.

Actively participate in weekly planning meeting with the Student Ministry Director to confirm service details, align schedules, and anticipate any additional needs for worship support.

Lead and facilitate band rehearsals prior to Student Ministry program, fostering musical excellence, unity, and preparedness among team members.

Mentor and develop student music team members.

Minimum Qualifications:

Degree in music education or a combination of education and relevant experience.

2+ years of experience in leading children's worship/ministry.

High proficiency in piano/keyboard or guitar preferred.

Salary: $13,000-$14,000/year
