Student Ministries Pastor

Job Description:

We are looking for a man of God who loves Jesus and loves students in His name. Further, we are looking for someone to grow our Student Ministry. As a church we want to invest in the next generation for the Kingdom of God. We minister in a smaller community of about 9,000 with around 1,500 students enrolled in the school system.

A qualified candidate will have either a bachelor degree from an accredited college/university or equilavant life experience, Bible or Ministry degree preferred but not required.

Job Purpose:

1. To serve as Student Pastor of the church, reaching and discipling Middle School and Senior High students.
2. Lead volunteer staff and youth in reaching and discipling other Middle school and Senior High students of the church and commuinity.
3. To assist early childhood ministries (PK-5th grade) including recruitment and development of volunteers and implementation of curriculum.

Duties

1. Model a dynamic Christian life.
2. Build and maintain relationships with students, and families.
3. Lead regular student ministry services where fellowship, worship and teaching are provided.
4. Teach the students God’s plan of salvation and disciple them in deepening their faith and in their ability to serve the Lord.
5. Recruit, train, and develop volunteer adults and students as leaders for the Middle School and Senior High Student Ministries.
6. Provide spiritual counsel for students and their families.
7. Develop effective means of discipling students individually.
8. Developing and evaluating short term (1 year) and long term (3-5 years) vision for student ministries.
9. Develop plans for effective student outreach in our community.
10. Coordinate communication to families of students.
11. Oversee and develop student ministries budget.
12. Coordinate and lead yearly summer camp or short-term mission trip for Middle and High School students.
13. Oversee student-led worship, discipling student worship teams as opportunity and gifting arises.
