Reformed Church in America (Bahrain)
Posted By: Openings From Our Partners
We have a history of wonderful pastoral leadership that gives us confidence as we enter this new phase. Our senior pastor/head of staff is key to mobilizing, teaching, leading, and inspiring our congregation and staff. We believe in shared leadership which encourages our members and friends to identify and utilize their gifts. Northern California produces few if any "culture bound" Christians; our members and friends are highly motivated to put their faith to work. Older members have an enterprising point of view, not bound by history or tradition. By modeling collegiality and grace, our pastor will encourage staff and congregation to work together to expand our welcome inside and outside our walls. Effectively managing a large staff of mainly lay part-time employees will enable the smooth operation of our many programs and activities. Preaching and teaching will be critical in forming thoughtful, balanced, Christ-centered disciples. Pastoral care will create a sense of cohesion and care in the body of Christ.
We do not envision our pastor as answering all our challenges or questions; nor do we expect a one-person attraction to draw crowds of young people into our sanctuary. Rather, we see our senior pastor as a team leader for a well-functioning body. We seek a pastor who will help us cast a vision and inspire us all on this journey.
