The Preschool Ministry Pastor will provide leadership to the volunteers and shepherd the hearts and minds of children 0 to 5 years of age. Strong relational, leadership, recruiting, and shepherding skills are necessary, as well as an obvious passion for kids.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Ensure an excellent, safe, and secure environment for preschoolers and leaders on Sunday mornings
- Oversee all regular classroom activities in nursery through PreK 5, including curriculum setup and weekly supplies.
- Serve on the Fellowship Kids Curriculum Team to provide curriculum and training resources specific to preschoolers to Fellowship Kids staff at all campuses.
- Edit and implement curriculum strategy for preschool small groups and large groups at the West Little Rock campus, based on multisite curriculum plan.
- Recruit, train, and encourage leaders for all areas of Preschool Ministry, including the roles of small group leader, large group leader, production support, coach, and supply prep.
- Participate in the large group teaching rotation.
- Schedule volunteers in preschool small group and large group spaces.
- Invest in relationships with volunteers to encourage their growth as leaders and as followers of Jesus.
- Regularly communicate with volunteers to share vision, lesson plans, and needed information for Sunday mornings.
- Establish and nurture relationships with leaders through lunches, phone calls, emails, cards, appreciation gifts, etc.
- Provide on-going training for leaders through regular gatherings to discuss upcoming lessons, events, or small group needs.
- Regularly communicate with parents of preschoolers in alignment with the Fellowship Kids communication plans to provide discipleship material, resources, and important information regarding ministry updates.
- Serve as primary Pastor to preschoolers and their families, building relationships through intentional meetups and providing pastoral care and support during difficult moments and key faith moments and conversations (newborn visits, child dedication, faith and salvation questions, etc.)
- Plan and lead special events to reach preschool families in the community (Capes and Crowns, summer water days, etc.)
- Plan and execute Preschool Story Time weekly during the fall and spring school semesters
- Serve on Sunday mornings as staff representative and assist in Sunday morning tasks (guest assignments, volunteer placement, and emergency situations)
- Work with the West Little Rock Childcare team to ensure shared spaces are prepared and planned for in advance of programs starting
- Assist with church-wide Fellowship Kids events and trainings as needed
- Manage preschool attendance rosters and database as it pertains specifically to preschool ministry
- Attend weekly Fellowship Kids staff meetings and monthly all-staff meetings
- Attend Sunday worship regularly
- Participate in the Pastor On Call rotation
- Other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
Education and Experience:
- Required - Bachelor's degree; Seminary/Master's a bonus
- At least 2 - 5 years' experience in children's ministry (volunteer, internship, and/or residency experience considered)
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knows personal strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and limits; seeks feedback; gains insights from mistakes; is open to criticism; is not defensive; is receptive to talking about shortcomings
- Passion for the discipleship of preschoolers and parents at Fellowship
- Initiates well on their own and can work well on their own
- Loves recruiting, building, leading, and serving on a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent organizational skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability to organize for Sunday services
- Relational with staff, campuses, parents, and preschoolers
- Ability to identify and think through problems quickly and be a part of the solution

- Signed acknowledgement of Fellowship Bible Church's "Confession of Faith" form
- Signed acknowledgement to policies and procedures as stated in Fellowship Bible Church's Employee Manual
- Living out the spiritual principles outlined in the "Code of Conduct"

- 40-45 hours/week
- Mon-Thurs- 8:30am-5:00pm
- Fri- Off
- Sun- 8:00am-1:00pm
