Part-Time Worship Leader

Ignite Church seeks a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Worship Leader to lead the congregation in dynamic, Spirit-led worship. The ideal candidate is someone who loves God, is musically gifted, and is skilled at fostering a communal worship experience. As part of the Ignite Church team, you will work closely with church leadership and the worship team to create an atmosphere where people are encouraged to engage with God through praise, worship, and prayer.

Key Responsibilities
1.    Worship Planning & Execution
o    Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to plan weekly worship sets aligned with the sermon theme and overall church direction.
o    Select songs that reflect a balanced worship approach, incorporating contemporary and traditional elements (as appropriate to Ignite Church’s style).
o    Coordinate weekly rehearsals to ensure the worship team is spiritually prepared and musically excellent.
2.    Leadership & Team Development
o    Recruit, train, and mentor volunteer musicians, vocalists, and technicians, encouraging them to grow spiritually and musically.
o    Provide ongoing direction, feedback, and resources to develop individual and collective talents within the team.
o    Foster a collaborative and supportive environment, modeling servant leadership.
3.    Spiritual Emphasis
o    Lead by example, demonstrating a lifestyle of worship on and off the platform.
o    Encourage team members to engage in spiritual disciplines and maintain Christ-centered lives.
o    Facilitate times of prayer and devotion with the team before rehearsals or services.
4.    Technical Coordination
o    Work with audio, video, and lighting volunteers to ensure a seamless, distraction-free worship experience.
o    Oversee or assist with the scheduling and coordinating all worship-related resources (instruments, microphones, sound equipment, etc.).
o    Troubleshoot technical challenges during rehearsals or services in collaboration with the tech team.
5.    Administrative Duties
o    Communicate song arrangements, chord charts, and rehearsal schedules to worship team members promptly.
o    Manage and coordinate the weekly worship schedule (including special events or additional services).
o    Collaborate with other ministry leaders for special services (e.g., holidays, community outreach, conferences).

Qualifications
•    Spiritual & Personal
o    A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a passion for worship, prayer, and discipleship.
o    Actively involved in church life and ministry, upholding Ignite Church’s core values and statement of faith.
•    Musical Competency
o    Proficiency on guitar or keyboard (preferred) and strong vocal ability.
o    Knowledge of various worship music styles and ability to adapt songs for a diverse congregation.
o    Experience in leading a worship team or band.
•    Leadership & Communication Skills
o    Ability to cast vision and guide a team both musically and spiritually.
o    Strong interpersonal skills, with the capacity to encourage and inspire volunteers.
o    Organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
•    Technical & Administrative Skills
o    Familiarity with worship presentation software (e.g., ProPresenter) and basic sound equipment setups.
o    Basic understanding of live sound reinforcement, stage management, and equipment troubleshooting.
o    Competent in scheduling software or tools (e.g., Planning Center, etc.).

Expectations
•    As agreed upon with church leadership, lead worship, special events, and services on Sunday.
•    Participate in weekly staff or ministry leadership meetings as required.
•    Maintain consistent communication with the Lead Pastor, staff, and volunteers.
•    Commit to personal growth and development through prayer, Bible study, and ongoing musical/leadership training.
•    Adhere to Ignite Church’s guidelines, policies, and code of conduct, representing the church with integrity.
 

Work Hours & Compensation
•    Hours: Approximately 10-15 hours per week, which includes planning, rehearsals, and worship services.
•    Compensation: $25,000.00 per year.
