Professional Skills/Talents/Experience

  • Have a passion for shepherding spiritual growth through community groups, reproducing leaders, creating a safe environment, demonstrating God’s love in the community, and serving the world
  • Strong organizational skills; entrepreneurial, but can work within systems
  • Must have strong communication skills; teaching/presentation skills and experience are important; must be able to relationally present to large and small groups
  • Be able to connect with people of different ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds
  • Experience in team building and vision casting, leading small groups and volunteer teams; must be able to recruit, train, and motivate volunteers
  • Four-year degree is preferred; seminary degree is a bonus

Areas of Responsibility

  • General
    • Champion and be an example of Grace’s vision, mission, and strategy
    • Provide spiritual leadership and shepherding to the campus through presence, ministry conversations, and other Care opportunities
    • Pursue upfront/speaking opportunities like Sunday stage hosting and others to establish rapport and leadership with broader campus community
    • Work alongside Campus Pastor to lead, empower, and invest in campus staff team

  • Community Groups & Connections
    • Work alongside GBC Connections Director and Team to plan and implement the groups ministry at campus
    • Develop a system of equipping to recruit, train, and support new and existing group leaders, utilizing existing Grace processes like Say Yes, the ROCK database, and Group Leader Trainings
    • Plan and execute localized Rooted experiences at campus each year, supporting these leaders and groups to transition into environments of longer-term community
      • Plan to be present at campus on afternoons/evenings groups are meeting, especially Rooted, to connect with leaders, observe group helath, and help guide groups into next steps
      • Lead or delegate Rooted large group teaching, like Vision/Launch week and the week on Sacrificial Generosity
      • Help lead and facilitate Rooted Graduations with the wider GBC Connections Team
      • Work to coordinate and encourage Rooted groups into future community via studies like EHS, VOTH, Life in Rhythm, or Practicing the Way
    • Coordinate all groups registration, childcare, and setup logistics alongside Campus Admin
    • Empower volunteers to lead a variety of Short-Term Groups at campus, coordinating childcare/setup/materials with Campus Admin, and prioritizing to offer topics that relate to felt needs like Financial Peace, Marriage, Parenting, Grief, & Racial Unity
    • Work with Campus Admin and GBC Connections Team to celebrate how our volunteers help our church Live In Community and show appreciation for their efforts

  • Guest Services
    • Oversee Sunday guest services ministries including greeters, ushers, parking, desk, café, and communion
    • Be present before, during, and after all Sunday services to help lead, organize, and execute the various aspects of Guest Services ministry at GBC
      • Coordinate the setting up of the lobby area and auditorium to create a safe, clean, and aesthetic environment for guests
      • Attend team meetings before each service to pray, cast vision, and facilitate
      • Encourage weekly volunteers and be a resource for Team Captains
      • Lead and implement the Test Drive and onboarding processes for potential volunteers
      • Take responsibility for making sure the building is locked and the alarm is set on Sunday, also getting the offering bag from the campus safe to central staff by the time needed
      • Responsible for training Guest Services Captains on safety/security policies and procedures
    • Work together with Guest Services Captains to implement recruiting, training, and organizational initiatives
      • Communicate via email and phone with Captains during the week as needed
      • Plan, organize, and lead regular team meetings with your GS Captains
    • Communicate with central teams to plan and implement lobby promotions and sermon series decorations
  • Next Steps
    • Work in close coordination with the GBC Next Steps team to oversee and implement the Next Steps process at campus - providing assistance for visitors, attendees, and members wanting to join a group, connect to a ministry, know more about Grace, or serve as a volunteer - helping interested attendees take their desired next step at Grace and ensuring that no one drops through the cracks.
      • Oversee the annual “Together/Say Yes” volunteer recruitment campaign at campus (also ensuring interested people join a serving team outside of Together)
        • Oversee membership and any other assimilation processes (Discover Grace, etc.) at campus.
    • Review weekly guest information and prayer requests, following up with needs and/or deferring to Campus Pastor or Care Team
      • Oversee Baptism promotion and follow up at campus, also recruiting, training, and leading a team to implement baptism events, utilizing Campus Admin as needed
