Job description

Position Summary:

The Digital Discipleship Director has the primary responsibility of developing and managing discipleship strategy, volunteer digital missionaries and discipleship content and training for the purpose of helping our audience grow spiritually to be mature, multiplying disciples. This role is crucial in expanding our discipleship strategy across all digital platforms, deepening the skills of our digital missionaries, and helping contacts in their spiritual growth. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of digital marketing trends and tools and solid experience in digital discipleship. As a nonprofit, we need someone who is not only a strategic thinker and excellent manager but also a hands-on doer who can execute the work directly. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

This role focuses on 5 key areas: 

  • Digital Discipleship Model and Strategies – Lead in the development of an integrated discipleship model that helps seekers/new believers through spiritual growth steps using on-demand content, personal discipleship with our volunteers and on the ground connections to Christian community. 
  • Manage Digital Volunteer Communities – Direct the teams working with our digital missionaries to recruit and train volunteers, engage and grow digital missionary leaders and encourage volunteers in their coaching of contacts.
  • Discipleship Content – Integrate and determine best strategies for current digital discipleship content, define gaps and resources for needed content and bring together paths for engaging with content through digital missionaries and e-learning individually. Work with and manage discipleship content partners. Work collaboratively with the Digital Advertising and Content Manager to ensure best use of content across websites, digital resources and social media platforms.
  • Discipleship Training – Direct the training and instructional design team in developing, implementing and managing training courses and programs for both online missionaries and contacts in discipleship.
  • Analytics & Reporting - Track, report, and analyze discipleship analytics across platforms. Work with our digital outreach teams to integrate discipleship into the seeker journey from point of entry and measure contact quality by analyzing depth of engagement. Regularly review and refine spiritual growth metrics and analytics to determine best strategies for measuring engagement and discipleship growth 
  • Cultivate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to living out the Great Commission 

 

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • Deep supervisory and interpersonal relationship experience, either as manager or team leader
  • Related work experience that demonstrates broad understanding of people strategy and processes, including but not limited to skills in influencing, negotiation and understanding of global perspectives
  • Understanding and use of online platforms and tools to implement discipleship engagement with the volunteers, language teams and contacts.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful digital marketing campaigns across various platforms.
  • Experience leveraging AI technologies to enhance customer engagement and qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of SEO, SEM, Google Analytics, social media marketing, email marketing, and content marketing.
  • Experience in managing and optimizing websites, including conducting in-depth website and customer analysis.
  • Excellent understanding of target audiences and the ability to create digital discipleship approaches that resonate with them.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in using data to drive marketing decisions.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for the mission of GMO and a heart for evangelism and discipleship both personally and professionally
  • A courteous, Christ-like approach to relationships with a commitment to faithfully uphold GMO’s ministry in prayer
