If you are passionate about seeing people finding their purpose, ensuring the effective workflow of operations and establishing procedures, and have a heart and deep passion for the city of Los Angeles, Hillsong California has an opportunity for full-time Community Pastor to join the team.

Working in partnership with Hillsong California Lead Pastors, you will be responsible for:

Ministerial Duties
  • Responsible for the spiritual leadership, pastoral care and wellbeing of staff, volunteers and congregation
  • Teach Christian discipleship through instruction and by example
  • Abide by Hillsong Pastors code of conduct and Hillsong Safe Church policy at all times
  • Meeting with different congregation and team members that need pastoral care, and attend to pastoral care needs that may be outside out normal working hours
  • Ensure that the church's congregation has clear pathways to be discipled and connected

Team Leadership
  • Lead and oversee Hillsong LA team members, caring for their personal well-being while setting goals and driving and excellence in overall job performance
  • Identify and implement leadership structures, systems and strategies to improve organizational growth
  • Help develop platform team and plan service programs

Finance & Business
  • Oversee all finance-related campus needs
  • Review monthly financial statements and the financial health of the campus
  • Manage all team spending (e.g. Divvy cards, invoicing and reimbursement)
  • Ensure all team expense reporting is completed on time, in line with church finance procedures
  • Participate in annual budget development
  • Review and analyze donor trends to inform and direct financial decisions
  • Develop and nurture key business relationships, including venue-related relationships and lead any contract negotiations

Events, Operations and Programs
  • Support on-site logistics for the campus with the help of staff and key team (i.e., weekend and midweek gatherings)
  • Plan, create and execute events and programs
  • Oversee all integration courses and ministries; including but not limited to The Discipleship Project, Connect Groups, Life Courses and New Christian Assimilation
  • Work with Connect Group Leaders on any connect group content/study
  • Ensure that the community of the campus thrives and getting connected into church life
  • Analyze data and trends systematically to make impactful decisions that optimize program success

Ideally, a successful candidate will have:
  • 3+ years of pastoral leadership experience, including:
    • Overseeing a team of staff, assets and resources
    • Preaching and teaching
    • Pastoral care and counsel
    • Financial stewardship and budget management
    • Training leaders and volunteers
    • Program and/or project management
  • Previous studies at a recognized Christian Ministry educational institution are desirable. Formal qualifications in theology, business or psychology are beneficial
  • Demonstrated competencies in:
    • Building and growing effective teams
    • Adaptability
    • Operational technical and functional know-how
    • Effective communications
    • Project management skills and demonstrated aptitude for planning, coordinating and scheduling
    • Administrative skills and proven ability to manage multiple programs/projects efficiently
