Children's Ministry Director

Gun Lake Community Church seeks a Director of Children's Ministry whose prime passion is equipping people to disciple kids! Gun Lake Church is a growing ministry on the north side of Gun Lake in Southwest Michigan that is committed to reaching seven different communities and five lakes with the hope of Jesus Christ.

Purpose: The Children’s Ministry Director will lead and equip a team that together effectively disciples the children of GLCC and positively influences families in their walk with Christ.

• Must display a strong and vital faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

• A commitment to modeling Gun Lake Community Church’s mission and values to families and children.

• Shows a passion for discipleship to happen in children and families as a part of the overall vision of GLCC.

• Ability to work effectively with a team and as an active part of the church staff.

• Strong moral character and the willingness to model servant leadership.

• A contagious passion for children to know Jesus. Formal training, experience, or other ministry experiences are a positive.

Responsibilities

• Be the visionary leader of Children’s Ministry at GLCC.

• Recruit, disciple, equip, and inspire a team of people to disciple kids and impact families.

• Meet regularly with that team to discuss, plan, dream, and pray about Children’s ministry as well as empower and equip them to disciple the children of GLCC.

• Select age-appropriate and Bible-based curriculum that supports and fosters the spiritual growth and discipleship of children.

• To come alongside parents to empower and equip them to disciple their children.

• To effectively lead and administrate VBS each summer and Harvest Festival each Fall.

• Administrate and coordinate volunteers for Nursery and Preschool ministries.

• This position is “Children Focused” but also a part of the larger discipleship team.
