CCKids Director (Children's Ministry) 40 hours/week, full-time, exempt Overview
The CCKids Director plays an integral role in Christ Church East Bay's Next Generation Ministries and serves the congregation by overseeing our CCKids Ministry. This role is focused on leading newborns, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary students into deeper relationships with Christ and his church through community and for the city. The CCKids Ministry exists to supplement the formation of children and help lay down the foundations for a lifelong communion with Christ and his church.
The CCKids Director will:
- Direct and execute programming for children during family worship and fellowship (primarily on Sunday, but also during midweek gatherings and special events).
- Provide prayerful care and thoughtful resources for children and parents in need of support and assistance.
- Facilitate missional community amongst the children and parents, connecting them with one another and their neighbors.
Key Responsibilities Sunday & Midweek Spiritual Formation (17 hours)
- Plan and oversee the Sunday children's ministry program with appropriate accommodations based on children's needs.
- Identify and implement Sunday curriculum sets for each age level.
- Develop a regular plan for Scripture reading and memorization with accountability for children.
- Provide parents with age-appropriate discipleship goals and resources.
- Maintain records of baptized and communing children.
- Prepare children for first communion in collaboration with the Pastor of Care & Discipleship.
- Keep current with best practices on kids' spiritual formation.
- Plan and provide content for age-appropriate fellowship, service, and outreach gatherings.
- Organize parenting seminars in collaboration with pastors.
- Support and encourage parents and kids toward child baptisms and first communions.
- Recruit, train, manage, and care for teachers and volunteers.
- Collaborate with pastors and Worship Arts Director for kids' involvement in corporate worship.
Church Community Development (10 hours)
- Maintain regular contact with kids, teachers, and parents.
- Stay current with prayer concerns and ministry-relevant information.
- Facilitate and nurture networks of families.
- Integrate new families into the life of the church.
- Develop strategies for child and family outreach.
- Create programming for the kids portion of the All-Church Retreat.
Administration/Communications (13 hours)
- Supervise and meet regularly with CCKids Assistant(s).
- Attend staff meetings and maintain communication with direct report.
- Maintain family directory and attendance records.
- Codify and enforce safety guidelines for children.
- Curate CCKids content for communications.
- Oversee the CCKids budget preparation and quarterly financial review.
- Collaborate to send out newsletters to parents and the church.
- Organize classroom areas and manage paid childcare workers.
- Coordinate volunteers for Sunday check-in.
- Open and lock classrooms for activities.

Supervises: CCKids Coordinator and/or Assistant

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 2+ years prior children's ministry experience.
- Team player.
