POSITION TITLE: Children’s Director/Pastor

PURPOSE (The Win)

The Children’s Director/Pastor helps in creating an environment where children experience the love of Jesus, volunteers feel equipped and valued, and families are actively engaged in their child’s spiritual growth.

Ministry Area: NXT Gen

Accountable To: Executive Pastor of Discipleship

Time Commitment: 40 hours a week

BASIC PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Champion the Core DNA of New Horizon Church
• Pursue a lifestyle that reflects New Horizon Church’s “Marks of Life Change.”
• Be prompt, prepared, and presentable.
• Participate in weekly staff meetings, providing updates on ministry plans and offering encouragement and feedback.
• Attend All Team Leadership Gatherings.
• Maintain all aspects of New Horizon Church Leadership Covenant
• Develop and manage the Horizon Kids budget, tracking expenses throughout the year.
• Commit to Spiritual Growth (Disciple Making), Leadership Development, and Generosity.
• Maintain strict confidentiality in all ministry and family matters.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Recruit, equip, and retain Horizon Kids ministry volunteers.
• Ensure that all programming helps children grow in their relationship with Christ and understand their role as members of God’s church.
• Create and organize volunteer training and development.
• Clearly communicate expectations and needs to volunteers.
• Regularly check in with volunteers regarding their needs and expectations.
• Monthly scheduling and weekly coordination of teachers/helpers, lessons, and supplies for all children’s ministry activities.
• Lead evangelism efforts to reach families with children
• Other duties as assigned
