Position: Children's and Youth Ministry Pastor at Christian Hills Church

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week.
Location: Orland Hills, Illinois
Reports To: Lead Pastor Mike McCartney
Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
Employment Type: Full-Time (Overseeing both Children's and Youth Ministries) or Two Part-Time Positions

Job Description:

Are you passionate about walking alongside youth as they grow in faith, navigate life’s challenges, and discover their identity in Christ? Christian Hills Church in Orland Hills, IL, is seeking a Children's and Youth Ministry Pastor who will embrace our life-on-life discipleship culture, providing a warmhearted, Christ-centered ministry to children birth to high school students.

Work Schedule:

• In-Person Commitment: 4 days per week at the church office and present on Sunday mornings.
• Service Times:
  • Youth Ministry: Sunday evenings at 6:00 PM; Wednesday Bible Study at 3:20 PM
  • Children's Ministry: Sunday mornings

Key Responsibilities:

• Program Leadership: Develop and oversee engaging programs for children (birth–5th grade) and youth (6th–12th grade) that foster spiritual growth and align with the church's mission.
• Curriculum Development: Select and implement age-appropriate curricula for all ministry activities.
• Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to support ministry programs.
• Event Coordination: Plan and execute special events, such as Vacation Bible School, retreats, Kids Camp, and others to enhance ministry outreach.
• Pastoral Care: Provide spiritual guidance and support to children, youth, and their families, including counseling and visitation as needed.
• Collaboration: Work closely with church leadership and staff to integrate children’s and youth programs into the broader church community.
• Administrative Duties: Manage ministry budgets, maintain records, and ensure compliance with our church policies and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Christian Education, or a related field; seminary training preferred.
• Experience: Proven experience in children’s and/or youth ministry leadership.
• Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities; proficiency in using technology and social media for ministry purposes.
• Personal Attributes: A passion for nurturing the faith of young people; ability to connect with children, youth, and their families.
