Position Title: Associate Director of Student Ministries

Supervisor: Director of Student Ministries

Direct Reports: n/a

Classification: Regular / Full time / Exempt

Pay Grade: 6

POSITION SUMMARY

Menlo is a multisite church in the San Francisco Bay area and a member of ECO: A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians. The Associate Director of Student Ministries is a key member of our team in Menlo Park, California. As part of a multisite church, our Associate Director of Student Ministries needs to have a strong collaborative nature and be able to work in a matrix organization. You'll work closely with our Menlo Park team, report directly to the Menlo Park Director of Student Ministries, and collaborate with Student Ministry staff from other locations. All of our locations comprise one church where everyone is welcome, nobody's perfect, and anything's possible.

The Associate Director of Student Ministries will partner with the Director of Student Ministries in Menlo Park to serve all students and their families. We are looking for someone who is passionate about NextGen ministries, has a heart for discipling kids and students, and understands how critical it is for us to pour into the lives of middle and high school students. The Associate Director of Student Ministries will model what it means to live a faith-filled life with integrity. You must be above reproach as you provide spiritual leadership to our middle and high school students, their families, and our congregation as a whole. You will work with the Director of Student Ministries and other campus staff to implement programming and services and inspire others to love and follow Jesus more deeply.

We are looking for someone who can see the big picture as well as manage the many details necessary to run a ministry that focuses on discipling students, volunteers, and each other. The Associate Director of Student Ministries will help manage the administrative duties so we can plan, communicate, and execute in ways that are safe, fun, meaningful, and sustainable. You will help recruit, train, and develop student leaders and adult volunteers. The Associate Director of Student Ministries will disciple adult life group volunteers and work seamlessly with the Director of Student Ministries so that all students feel seen, known, and loved.

The Associate Director of Student Ministries will be passionate about building relationships with and serving students and their families. You will encourage and equip students to reflect Jesus's love for those in need through serving neighbors and our local community. One thing COVID taught us is that things are constantly changing. It is important that our Associate Director of Student Ministries is flexible and able to easily adapt to changing circumstances. We're looking for someone who is willing to try new things, likes to have a good time, and doesn't take themselves too seriously (goofy humor is appreciated here). Our ideal candidate will be a strong collaborator, feel called to serve middle and high school students, and have a heart for raising up leaders. At Menlo Church, our staff is a team of humble, hopeful, and gritty Jesus-followers who do what we do so that people can find and follow Jesus.
