Assistant Minister

The Assistant Pastor supports the Lead Pastor in leading the congregation and has specific areas of focus. This is a half time position of 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

● Provides guidance and support mainly to the Family Ministry Team.

● In coordination with the Outreach & Missions Team, help coordinate service projects, local missions, or global outreach efforts.

● Occasionally, as requested by the Lead Pastor, assist in worship services, preaching on scheduled Sundays, and assisting in Holy Communion and baptisms.

● If needed, visit members in hospitals, nursing homes, or at home.

● Partner with the lead pastor in visioning, planning, and execution of ministry.

● Occasionally lead Bible studies, small groups, confirmation classes, or new member orientation.

● Recruit, train and mentor leaders, and volunteers.

● Participate in staff meetings and assigned teams.

● Contribute to monthly newsletters, weekly announcements, and congregation updates.

● Engaging in theological study, denominational training, and professional development.

● Maintaining spiritual disciplines, live consistently with Christian and denominational values, maintain personal boundaries, and model grace.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of church ministry related experience or equivalent.
